Morning all and a Happy Halloween

Time for another fabulous new challenge on Sketch Saturday and another brand new sketch from Jo.....and what a challenge it was!!lol

Which is probably why I haven't followed the sketch exactly!!!!....well, I looked at the sketch earlier in the week and thought....OH!!!...that looks hard...and then thought about it over the next few days till I had an idea in my head, didn't bother to look at the sketch again until I made my card and then realised.....oh, oh, not quite like the sketch...doh!!!...never mind its almost right!!!

Welcome to the CC Designs Autumn Sugarplums Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone, omg, I totally forgot to stop by and show you my pics which went into the ATS newletter this week.

Each week the newsletter is full of wonderful stuff from ATS, telling you all about fabulous new products, any sale items and even discounted stock or special offers.

This week it was my turn to contibute to the 'how to' section. Now sometimes this section will show you a brilliant tutorial, but I decided to do a 'product focus', here is what I wrote

PRODUCT FOCUS: BG Patterned paper

I love BG patterned paper because…….’each collection is so varied, ranging from bright colours with wild and funky patterns to beautiful soft colours with elegant understated patterns.’

This allows me wonderful flexibility in my cardmaking and means I can choose paper to match my image perfectly

The pads also have a mix of colours/patterns within which means I can make completely different looking cards from just one pad

Here, I have chosen to focus on BG Porcelain and have used this paper to make both these cards……I think you’ll agree….totally different

Colour Create - Lilac and blue

Well, I'm just scraping in with this challenge over on Colour Create where the combo is 'Lilac and blue'.

It's not really colours I use alot, so I quickly grabbed this piece of dp from my local craft shop only to discover when I got home that it has snowflakes on it!!!.....oh well, good job I had this Gorjuss girl to stamp up and that combined with the colours makes it wintery but not too Christmassy!!

There is a fab prize up for grabs this week as Tara is celebrating her birthday and they also have over 10,000 hits on the challenge blog.....there are some gorgeous Miss Anya stamps, so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for this one.....I just adore these stamps!!!

ATS DT Challenge #42 - White on white

Here is the challenge this week on ATS 'White on White'....only the focal image can be colour.

Well to say this was difficult for me is a bit of an understatement.....I don't have any embossing folders...so mine is well and truly CAS lol!!

The other members of the DT however have managed to create some really beautiful samples, so hop on over to the blog and take a look at how it should be done!!

Not many details to give.....all images and sentiments from ATS , coloured with promarkers and a bit of paper piecing, a few brads and a bit of coloured CS.

Huge thanks to everyone for your kind comments about the job situation, well I went for an interview on Monday for a different position in the same store and I found out yesterday I got it...yeah!!!.....you can all uncross your fingers now lol!!!. It does mean I have to go back to working every evening, but ya gotta take what you can get at the moment, so my posting may drop off a little.......not that you'll be able to tell lol!!!!

ATS DT Challenge #40

Well, here I am back in the land of the living...and blogging!!, thanks to everyone who left get well wishes for me...I appreciate every one xxx. Truth be told, I was actually only a bit ill for one day, but then didn't feel like making or blogging....so maybe I wasn't 100%.

So onto todays card, which is my DT card for this weeks challenge at ATS , where the theme is Shades of Green. The idea is to make a card to celebrate St Patricks Day....but if that's too tricky...like it was for me!!!.....anything with green will be totally fabulous.

The other guys on the DT have created some gorgeous examples and there really are all shades of green, hop over to the blog for some inspiration.

What made my card so much easier were these fabulous papers which were a FREE download from Summertime Designs . Summer has loads of fabulous kits which you can download for free....isn't that awesome....hop over and take a look...I'm sure your printer will soon be redhot!!

Hi everyone, it's review time over at the ATS blog and this week is the turn of the fabulous Friends Sentiments byAmyR...........well, as you can tell I've had no trouble making good use of this set...I think I've used it on 4 of my last 5 cards!!

The reason for the title is that this sentiment immediately sent me singing the theme tune to the Golden Girls...remember....'thank you for being a friend, travel down the road and back again.....', lol!!!, come on admit it, you're all singing now!!......you'll have to excuse me, I don't get out much!!!

Wow, where did that week go???....Saturday again already, I've only managed to post 2 cards this week!!, but having said that I am always so glad when the weekend does come around cos it means another fab new challenge at Sketch Saturday .

I've gone for something a bit different with the blue hair....what do you think?.....I asked the lovely Marlene for tips on colouring the hair black cos I was a bit worried she was going to end up looking like a little old lady...thanks hun....but when I got the stamps, I immediately coloured them all in, one had black hair, one red, one brown, then I went a bit wild and did violet and cerise and blue....and to be honest I think they all looked fab....so look out for more alternative colours next time

Yes that's right, my mojo is MIA.....so if anyone sees it can they send it back to me......I just don't know what's the matter with me but I just don't seem to be able to put a card together without it turning into a 3 hour ordeal...and that's just choosing the papers and the image lol!!.....hopefully things will return to normal next week!!

I half stamped the image a la Rach (thanks for the inspiration hun) and coloured it using the blending technique. The fancy circle was cut with my new scissors, one curve at a time....it wasn't time consuming at all lol!!....but I love the effect and I think it looks pretty good, considering the scissors are straight and I was cutting a circle!!!!

Me, I went for this really simple to make gift bag. The white bag was a pack I received a loooong time ago from my lovely friend Nikki , way back when I just started blogging and I have only just got round to using them!!!....thankyou sweetie. I NEED YOUR HELP.....

.....to decide.......Cuttlebug and Nesties......or....Copics

Basically I have a bit of spare cash and I can't decide what to buy. As some of you may know I don't have any machines or cutting aids....just me and my trusty craft knife/scissors and was thinking of getting a Cuttlebug and Nesties, but then because I love the colouring part and want to improve my skills with that I think the time has come to 'upgrade' to Copics, but sadly I don't have enough for both.... :(

Help me out her ladies.......what do I go for?????????????.........your help would be much appreciated....look forward to your thoughts

Friday Sketchers

Here is my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers which was a fabulous sketch by Bea. I really enjoyed working with this one as the shape of the card was a bit different from normal......and because the DT cards were so inspirational.

It's been made for a few days but I've been into work for the past few days and not been able to take a pic....so here it is, last minute...no surprise there then!

I tried to do the buckle thing on the ribbon, but it didn't look right, hope it's ok just to have it like this

Hope to be back later with another card I have to show you, I was going to do them both at the same time but the photo editing program has packed up again and I can't remember what to do.....typical woman!!....have to wait for the hubby to get back

Also we have a new addition to the family.......no not that!!.........we have a new cat, we got him on Sunday from the rescue centre, his name is Cesc and he's settling in just fine, I'll show you some pics when I get chance

A late post for me today as I've only just got home from work....booo!, but yeah! another review preview over at ATS . This time it's the turn of Hey Cupid and Hugs and Kisses.....these sets are so adorable...you know you want em!!!!! perfect for Valentines or just sending some lurve!!!

I was so inspired by the box and bow which Marlene made that I had to give it a go. I decorated a little box we had left over from Christmas, made the huge bow following the link on Marlene's blog to SCS and then added this cute little bunny image from the Hugs and Kisses set.

Paper Pleasing Digital Images

ATS DT Challenge #32

The DT was set the challenge this week to make one of these gorgeous double pocket bags...don't you think they are so cute...just perfect for a little gift, or a card and gift card, the possiblilites are endless and a real challenge to see how much you can stuff in lol!!

New Technique

Following on from my comment yesterday about a technique I had tried with the Promarkers, I had a little play last night and thought I'd show you the results......if you're interested. It doesn't work exactly the same as the Copics, cos there aren't enough colours, but I will certainly be using it if I have the right mix.

The one on the right is coloured as I normally would with the pens straight onto the paper, the one on the left is coloured by picking up the deeper colour with the paler colour and using that to shade.

I have tried to stick to similar colours to show you the difference.

Both dresses have been coloured Pastel Pink, but for the one on the right I used Coral to shade and the one on the left I used Ruby, picking the colour up with the Pastel Pink.

Now those of you who are familiar with the colours of the Promarkers will know that you could never directly lay Ruby onto Pastel Pink as the colours are just poles apart.....but with this technique I think you'll agree you get a really good blend of a rich vibrant colour which gives a feeling of light and makes the image more 'alive'

I have also used this technique on the hair, sleeves, tights and shoes

Friday Sketchers

Here is my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers which was this gorgeous sketch by Kristine .....I love it!

I have moved the flowers to the bottom but kept everything else the same....hope that's ok.

I have also tried a new technique with the colouring on the hat and the trousers, where you use the blender pen to apply the colour. I saw it on a tutorial for Copics and thought I would see if it worked with the promarkers....I need a bit more practise, but I would love to know what you think.....better, worse or just the same??.....any comments or constructive critisism gratefully received!!!

Sweetpea

Hi everyone,

Here is a card I made with one of the gorgeous new digi downloads from CC designs . You get this adorable Sweetpea Cupid and her little cat Tiger and because they are digi you get them immediately (no more hanging by the letterbox!) and you can resize them to whatever size you want...how fabulous is that!
