Sketch Saturday #36

Welcome to another fabulous new challenge on Sketch Saturday , but before I get to that I just wanted to say.....WOW! and a huge big thankyou to everyone who took part last week, the response was phenomenal, over 200 entries, looks like you all enjoyed the sketch!!

So onto this week, again another amazing sketch by Jo to really get your mojo movin and if that's not enough this week we have been kindly sponsored by Paula at Pollycraft Designs and the prize is 2 fabulous stamps from their new range.

The DT have once again made some delicious samples for your inspiration, so hop over to the blog for all the details and to take a look at their gorgeous work

Here are the details of my card, I've rotated it as my image was the wrong shape, feel free to do the same.
  • Image: Picking Apples from Sugar Nellie
  • Paper: Urban Prairie by BG and Coredinations CS
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Sentiment: Love sentiments by AmyR at ATS
  • Flowers and brads from stash

I have used the darker/lighter shading technique on this image and I think it turned out pretty good, so I'm brave enough to show you a close up!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a super day, look forward to all your lovely creations

I NEED YOUR HELP.....

.....to decide.......Cuttlebug and Nesties......or....Copics

Basically I have a bit of spare cash and I can't decide what to buy. As some of you may know I don't have any machines or cutting aids....just me and my trusty craft knife/scissors and was thinking of getting a Cuttlebug and Nesties, but then because I love the colouring part and want to improve my skills with that I think the time has come to 'upgrade' to Copics, but sadly I don't have enough for both.... :(

Help me out her ladies.......what do I go for?????????????.........your help would be much appreciated....look forward to your thoughts

Gorgeous card and the colouring of the image is wonderful. If I was you I would buy a cuttlebug, Ok buy some nesties but the cuttlebug embossing folders especially swiss dots I use all the time. Your colouring is already gorgeous so why do you need copics.

This is gorgeous...I love this image and the papers!

What to buy...gosh what a choice! I got the c'bug and nesties a coupla months ago and do use them a lot. I don't have copics...Both are going to require a significant investment (you'll need lots of copic colours to get started, and there are so many nestie shapes you'd want at least a few to get use otta the bug)....if you're ready to move to the next level of colouring I'd plump for them first!! There's always valentines, mothers day, a birthday ahead that you could maybe get the other thing you want! I do hope you get some wise advice from others who have both! Happy shopping whatever you decide!! bx

Gorgeous card Gill, the papers and colouring compliment eachother so well.
I've got a Cuttlebug and Nesties and wouldn't be without them. I couldn't justify spending all that money on Copics when I already have all the Prisma pencils, promarkers and SU pens!!

Beautiful card, I love those papers and the image.
I would go with the Cuttlebug and Nesties, I use them most days and would be lost without them. Have fun whichever you decide to buy.

Beautiful image and I love your colouring in! I love the whole of your card. Cuttlebug I use everyday now and you can use lots of dies in it so it is a longterm investment! Shop around for a deal including folders. Hope you can choose? I am tempted by the copics but they are very pricey.

This card is stunning Gill, beautiful papers and flowers.
I would say get a Big Shot...I prefer it to the CB...your colouring is awesome with what you use now. I'm sure you would get so much use from a cutting machine...the embossing folders are so cheap yet really effective.
HTH. Have a great weekend.

I think I would go for the cuttlebug and nesties as your coloring is so beautiful now...and next time you can get some Copics! :) Hope this helps...can't wait to see what you do! :)

Really gorgeous card!

I would go for the cuttlebug etc - the copics will just give you a different way of doing what you already do with something else, whereas the cuttlebug will give you something new to try, and make your life easier!

ohh Gill another gorgeous card, I recently bought a Big Shot and love it, It's great being able to cut circles and shapes to mat and layer my images on, but your colouring is wonderful Gill, so I think you should go for the copies and wait a bit longer for the die cutter hugs Jill xxx

First, let me tell you that I adore your card sweetie. Love that image and you coloured it so beautifully as always.

As for your question... that's a very tough one. Those three things, the Cuttlebug, the nesties and the Copics are my most valued things I've bought the last year. My tip to you however is... try Ebay or whatever secondhand medium you have in the UK. I bought my Copics on Marktplaats, a Dutch Ebay company, and I got them for one third of the prize I would have payed in a store... maybe if you can find a set of your own and maybe even a Cuttlebug you could buy both for the same amount of money. If I would have to choose I'd pick the Cuttlebug and my nesties though.... I absolutely love how they make my life easier. Let us know what you decide!!!

Hey Sweetie, Sorry I am so late on commenting on your gorgeous card! Really beautiful! Now you are asking a tough question because my Cuttlebug and my copics are my favorite tools of the trade by far. I would have to say that I think your coloring is already beautiful with what you use now so go for the Cuttlebug. But Copics are amazing...sorry I am not helping am I? LOL! Hugs Jeanette
