A quick one!

Hi everyone,

I was asked to make a card at the last minute for someone who is leaving work to have a baby.

Well I don't have any of the stamps I needed, so here is another hand-drawn effort, obviously based on the Magnolia characters...I tried to make it look like a pregnant lady....not sure it works, but hey ho!!!

I have used a layout I saw on Bev's blog which I liked and seemed to fit this A5 size card.....I'm so used to square ones now, I didn't know what to do....thanks BEV!

The papers and the flowers and the ribbon are what I won on aSfOs, aren't they gorgeous, everything coloured with promarkers.

Just a quick post as I have to go to work in an hour :( ......... don't forget to pop back tomorrow as it's Sketch Saturday

have a lovely day, thanks for stopping by

Spooky!!!

Morning everyone

And what a lovely morning it is here, sharp contrast to yesterday where we had pouring rain followed by a rather heavy snowflurry!!! I've never seen snowflakes so big!!

Here is the card I have made that I was talking about yesterday, I nipped out and got the black card (without getting too wet) and finished it off last night.

This is the first Halloween card I have ever made, so because I didn't have any traditional papers I decided to go with a background.

I have hand drawn the whole scene and then added these oh so cute stamps by CC designs. Everything has been coloured with my Promarkers.

Here are the details:
  • Images: CC designs
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: K&Co
  • Ribbon from stash

Thanks for stopping by, would love to know what you think about my first attempt at drawing a background! have a super day, wherever you are

Think Pink!

Morning everyone,

Hope you are all well, just popping in with a card I made following a sketch on 2sketches4you . I went with a pink theme because these papers are so gorgeous but more importantly it fits with the Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have been fortunate never to know anyone sufffer from this disease, but I know lots of people out there have so this card is for you and I attach to it, a great big hug.

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet Ebony from Sugar Nellie
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Papers: K & Co
  • Ribbon, flowers, beads and brads from stash

I bought a border punch (nothing fancy!) to do the scallopy bit, need a bit more practise with it, but I love the effect, you can't see it to good in the photo but it's really pretty.

I was also working on a 'spooky' card last night and after much colouring, realised I had no black card doh!!! how can one make a spooky card with no black!!!! so it's off to the shop this morning in the pouring rain with 2 kids to get some!!!

Anywoo, thanks for stopping by, have a great day

Sassy Crafts - DT Call

Hi everyone,

Here are a few cards I have made as my application for a DT call at Sassy Crafts . They are looking for a couple of new members and the requirement was to provide 1. a stamped project 2. my favourite piece of work and 3. a project that contains 4 squares. This is such a fantastic opportunity and although I'm last minute...I might just make it in time!!!

Some of the cards you will have seen before as you were able to provide previous samples, I've just moved them all to one place to make it easier to view.

My stamped project

My favourite project

My 4 square project

My 4 square card is not what I would have envisaged, but I didn't realise the date was TODAY!!, so I knocked this one up in about 1/2 an hour.....it is a square, plus 3 square boxes!!...hope it still counts!!
Well the deadline is 8pm tonight so I better get typing fast, wish me luck everyone

3 challenges in 1

Morning everyone,

Here is a card I've been working on for a few days now and just can't seem to get it so that I'm completely happy. I followed the sketch from a spoonfull of sugar which was kindly provided by the incredibly talented Lim. I decided to use a WOJ stamp so that I could combine it with the WOJ challenge and then because of the autumn colours I could also enter it for Cute Card Thursday .

I love the layout of the card and the papers and the ribbon and everything but just struggled with the image part....I originally had Melinda helping Angel on a white background but when I stuck that on it was like WHOOO!...too white, so I tried to distress it a bit....NO! that had to go straight in the bin. So back to the drawing board again, using a different stamp and a coloured cardstock.....like I say, not completely happy, but it's so much better than the first attempt lol!!

Here are the details anyway
  • Image: Willow with cookies from WOJ
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: hmmm, don't know
  • Ribbon and brads from stash

Thanks for looking, have a super Sunday

Sketch Saturday #21

Morning everyone,

Saturday again and you all know what that means, Sketch Saturday have a brand new challenge for you. Jo has produced another fabulous sketch, I can't stress enough how amazed I am every week by the wonderful skethes Jo comes up with, they are a real joy to work with.

Thanks to everyone who took part last week, we had another fabulous response and I'm sure you will all be keen to join in the fun again this week.

Hop over to the blog and look at all the stunning creations from the DT and then do another hop to their individual blogs to see how there card were made....stop by and show them some love!

I didn't have the right 'red' for the snowman to match these gorgeous papers so I used poppy and overlayed it with terracota and voila! a perfect match, I have also popped the scarf on 3d pads to give it a bit of dimension. All the papers, including the fabulous background paper is from Charmed cards and crafts

Here are the details of my card
  • Image: Snow Cozy by Sugar Nellie
  • Papers: Imaginisce and Carol Wilson
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Flower and brad from stash

Hope you have a super day, thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave

Friday Sketchers

Morning everyone,

Here is my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers which was a fabulous sketch by Beatrix. I have actually had this card made for a few days, just not got round to posting it until now....so unlike me!!

Following my heady success of managing to cut an oval shape, I went for another one on this card, not sure my cutting skills stood the test of time, so don't look to closely lol!!!
I've taken the photo straight on cos I couldn't get the angle right on the other one, my card kept looking like it was about to fall over, Tilda must have been at the vodka last night while we were all asleep!!!
Apologies if I've not been leaving as many comments as normal, I was disappointed not to make it as a Sugar Babe, thrilled for everyone who did, but disappointed non the less, but I've picked myself up now and decided crafting (and spending money on new stash!!) is the best therapy!

Here are the details
  • Image: Magnolia
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: MME
  • Sentiment: studio g
  • Flowers, brads and ribbons from stash

Have a super day, thanks for stopping by

So, onto this weeks challenge at Sketch Saturday where Jo has produced yet another fabulous sketch for you all....I just don't know how she keeps coming up with all the brilliant sketches for us to try, thankyou Jo.

I went into a bit of a panic when I first saw the oval, but thanks to my steady cutting hand, I managed it! I also didn't have any flowers the right colour so I made these ones myself! I have added sitckles to the wings and the flowers but the angle of the photo doesn't show this to its full effect doh!!!

Here are the details

  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: I don't know sorry!
  • Flowers: I made myself
  • Ribbon and buttons from stash

Double Dutch

Morning everyone,

Well it looks like my inspiration drought is over as I have finally managed to make a card, thanks to a wonderful sketch over at Double Dutch . They had a fabulous 1st challenge to make a wallet, but that looked too complicated for my old brain lol!!, so I was really pleased to find this amazing sketch for challenge 2.

The DT cards were fabulous and although I normally struggle to put so many pp together I found that this one came together quite easily. I wish I had added a few extra bits.....you know when you do that!....but it was all stuck down before I thought about it doh!!...I am still really pleased with the results though.

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet and Sassy from Sugar Nellie (she's still one of my favs!)
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: Mostly K&Co
  • Flowers and brads from stash

Sorry if the photo is a bit pants, but this is my sixth attempt!!!, it's so dark here with the horrible wind and rain.

Also, I've been tagged by Carole and Sandra, so I'll be back when I've thought of some more not so interesting facts to share with you!

It is also the birthday of my lovely friend Hanne - happy birthday sweetie.

Anyway, have a super day, wherever you are, thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a comment, you know I love it when you do
