Sketch Saturday #40

Wow, where did that week go???....Saturday again already, I've only managed to post 2 cards this week!!, but having said that I am always so glad when the weekend does come around cos it means another fab new challenge at Sketch Saturday .

The DT have done an amazing job yet again....what an amazing bunch of talented ladies....but don't look too closely..... Jeanette and I have used the same image lol!!

I've gone for something a bit different with the blue hair....what do you think?.....I asked the lovely Marlene for tips on colouring the hair black cos I was a bit worried she was going to end up looking like a little old lady...thanks hun....but when I got the stamps, I immediately coloured them all in, one had black hair, one red, one brown, then I went a bit wild and did violet and cerise and blue....and to be honest I think they all looked fab....so look out for more alternative colours next time

Here are the details

Sketch Saturday #37- DT week

Well, as the name suggests its DT this week over at Sketch Saturday and this week is the turn of none other than my lovely friend and fellow DT member Jeanette . Isn't this sketch amazing???....she says it's her first ever, but I think she's been practising on the sly.....lol!!....only joking sweetie.

This week we have also been very kindly sponsored by Denise from Whimsy Stamps and the prize on offer is two of her gorgeous new designs....hop over to the blog for all the details and to take a peak at the fabulous DT work.

Again, huge thanks to everyone who took part last week, another fantastic response.

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet and Sassy from Sugar Nellie
  • Paper: s.e.i. and Coredinations CS
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Flowers, brads and sentiment tag from stash

I half stamped the image a la Rach (thanks for the inspiration hun) and coloured it using the blending technique. The fancy circle was cut with my new scissors, one curve at a time....it wasn't time consuming at all lol!!....but I love the effect and I think it looks pretty good, considering the scissors are straight and I was cutting a circle!!!!

That's all for today, off to work for me in a few hours, hope you all have a fabby day...thanks for stopping by

I NEED YOUR HELP.....

.....to decide.......Cuttlebug and Nesties......or....Copics

Basically I have a bit of spare cash and I can't decide what to buy. As some of you may know I don't have any machines or cutting aids....just me and my trusty craft knife/scissors and was thinking of getting a Cuttlebug and Nesties, but then because I love the colouring part and want to improve my skills with that I think the time has come to 'upgrade' to Copics, but sadly I don't have enough for both.... :(

Help me out her ladies.......what do I go for?????????????.........your help would be much appreciated....look forward to your thoughts

Friday Sketchers

Here is my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers which was this gorgeous sketch by Kristine .....I love it!

I have moved the flowers to the bottom but kept everything else the same....hope that's ok.

I have also tried a new technique with the colouring on the hat and the trousers, where you use the blender pen to apply the colour. I saw it on a tutorial for Copics and thought I would see if it worked with the promarkers....I need a bit more practise, but I would love to know what you think.....better, worse or just the same??.....any comments or constructive critisism gratefully received!!!

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet and Sassy from Sugar Nellie
  • Paper: s.e.i. and Coredinations CS
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Sentiment: Love sentiments by AmyR at ATS
  • Flowers, brads and ribbon from stash

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you might leave, have a super Sunday

Think Pink!

Morning everyone,

Hope you are all well, just popping in with a card I made following a sketch on 2sketches4you . I went with a pink theme because these papers are so gorgeous but more importantly it fits with the Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have been fortunate never to know anyone sufffer from this disease, but I know lots of people out there have so this card is for you and I attach to it, a great big hug.

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet Ebony from Sugar Nellie
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Papers: K & Co
  • Ribbon, flowers, beads and brads from stash

I bought a border punch (nothing fancy!) to do the scallopy bit, need a bit more practise with it, but I love the effect, you can't see it to good in the photo but it's really pretty.

I was also working on a 'spooky' card last night and after much colouring, realised I had no black card doh!!! how can one make a spooky card with no black!!!! so it's off to the shop this morning in the pouring rain with 2 kids to get some!!!

Anywoo, thanks for stopping by, have a great day

All the papers, including the fabulous background paper is from Charmed cards and crafts

Here are the details of my card
  • Image: Snow Cozy by Sugar Nellie
  • Papers: Imaginisce and Carol Wilson

Double Dutch

Morning everyone,

Well it looks like my inspiration drought is over as I have finally managed to make a card, thanks to a wonderful sketch over at Double Dutch . They had a fabulous 1st challenge to make a wallet, but that looked too complicated for my old brain lol!!, so I was really pleased to find this amazing sketch for challenge 2.

The DT cards were fabulous and although I normally struggle to put so many pp together I found that this one came together quite easily. I wish I had added a few extra bits.....you know when you do that!....but it was all stuck down before I thought about it doh!!...I am still really pleased with the results though.

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet and Sassy from Sugar Nellie (she's still one of my favs!)
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: Mostly K&Co
  • Flowers and brads from stash

Sorry if the photo is a bit pants, but this is my sixth attempt!!!, it's so dark here with the horrible wind and rain.

Also, I've been tagged by Carole and Sandra, so I'll be back when I've thought of some more not so interesting facts to share with you!

It is also the birthday of my lovely friend Hanne - happy birthday sweetie.

Anyway, have a super day, wherever you are, thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a comment, you know I love it when you do

A spoon full of sugar

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fab weekend

I decided to make a card last night to try and take my mind off the excruciating pain from my toothache and went for the a spoonfull of sugar's challenge which this week was Christmas.

I love to enter 'a spoonfull' and try to make a card everyweek, so please excuse my artistic licence as making a Christmas card is especially difficult if you don't have any 'Christmas' things!!
Anyway I am pleased with the results even if it isn't very traditional.

Here are the details
  • Image: Honey from Sugar Nellie
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: K&Co
  • All other embellies from stash

I see also that last night my counter went over 10,000 hits, huge thanks to all my visitors for popping by and leaving such lovely comments and making this whole blog thing worthwhile

As my birthday is fast approaching and I have tipped the 10K I am going to do some blog candy, hopefully in the next few days...just need to get it sorted...so stay tuned

Have a super day, thanks for stopping by

Friday Sketchers

Morning everyone,

YAY! My DH fixed the problem with the photo's and he showed me what to do if it ever happens again.....big kiss mwah!

So now I am able to show you my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers where it was the turn of Heidi to produce this weeks sketch and what a fabulous sketch it was. The DT cards are fantastic and so full of inspiration.

Here are the details of my card
  • Image: Sweet ebony 'reflective' from Sugar Nellie
  • Papers: I don't know any of them...sorry
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Flowers, buttons and ribbon from stash

The butterfly is part of my win from Hanne's candy, there's a pot of them all different colours and I've been dying to use them, just not sure what to do with them, so I overlayed it with the flower and I think it looks nice.

Hope you have a fab day, thanks for stopping by
