An Award

Hi again everyone,

I have received an award from my lovely friend Diane . Diane has been MIA for quite a while and those of you who know her know why, I'm so glad she is now back on her feet, I have missed her loads while she's been away

Big HUGS to you Diane xxxx

I have already received this award a while ago and passed it on, but recently I have found some new super blogs, so I'm going to come back tomorrow...I'm too tired to do the linky thing now....zzzz!!!

Yeh I did it!!!

Evening everyone,

Yeh I did it....did what you ask....I am one of the lucky ones to be chosen by the lovely Jo as part of a super talented Design Team for sketch saturday .

I'm so thrilled to be chosen...my first DT!!. Huge thanks to Jo (and the other judges) and congratulations to all the other DT members.....I'm sure it's going to be a lot of fun.

Also, big thanks to all my visitors for all the lovely comments and good luck wishes you have left me, not just for the DT call but since I started this blog, I appreciate every one and I love you all

Hope you all had a lovely day

Are you lonesome tonight.....

Morning everyone,

Well, what can I say about this card, apart from it didn't turn out anything like I planned!!

It started out as one of Kathariana's sketches and I was going to add 3 ribbons to enter a spoon full.....erm noooooo!, then Tilda was supposed to be in the sun....erm noooooo!, so like all crafters do you have to make the best out of the situation.

I had coloured the sky too dark, so decided to add the moon and stars to look like Tilda is sitting at night and added some stickles to make it look shimmery.

The ribbon has got some stitching on it, so at a push I'm going to enter this for PTW where the theme is a 'stitch in time' as I won't have time to make another (cos I have to work this weekend..booo :(

Not sure about it still, my OH thinks its great, would love to know what you think, good or bad.
  • Image: Tilda and other Magnolia
  • Paper: Scraps from the drawer
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Flowers, brads, ribbon from stash

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day

Sketch Saturday

Morning everyone,

Jo over at Sketch Saturday has an awesome sketch on her challenge blog this week and is also looking for DT members, so I thought I would give it a try.

You had to make 2 projects using the same sketch, one Christmas and one anything you like, so here are my two cards

Birthday card
  • Image: Sweet Ebony from Sugar Nellie
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: MME
  • Flowers, brads and ribbons from stash

Christmas card

  • Image: hAngler
  • Medium: Promarkers
  • Paper: K & Co
  • Sentiments: Royal blush bubble stickers
  • Flowers, brads, ribbon and snowflake buttons from stash

You will notice that I have used Promarkers! yes I finally was able to buy some, only a few :( and I absolutely love them, they are so easy to use, quite a change from 'painting' everything with my Marvy pens. I haven't been able to do the shading quite as well due to the lack of pens, but I think I did ok for a first attempt. It's not long till my birthday.....I know what I'm asking for!! Thanks to Fran for the help and advice and the wicked tutorial.

Anyway, enough waffle, thanks for stopping by, have a super day

A spoon full of sugar

Morning everyone
Here is my card for this weeks a spoon full which was a gorgeous sketch by Debbie . There is a fabulous prize up for grabs this week including a Whiff of Joy stamp and don't forget you can now use any stamp you like.

I was going to do a completely different card, when I read on Jacqui's blog, the sketch was a good way to use up scraps and then I remembered I had these 2 squares of gorgeous paper somewhere at the bottom of the drawer, thanks Jacqui, for jogging my memory!

I really like the way it all turned out

Here are the details
  • Image: Sweet Ebony 'giddy up' from Sugar Nellie
  • Medium: Watercolour pens
  • Paper: Crate paper (I think!) and the stripe one I don't know (gosh I'm rubbish with the names of papers!!)
  • Sentiment: Studio g
  • Flowers, brads, button and ribbon from stash

Thanks for looking, I have to work today, so will be back later with a bit of blog catchup

Have a super day

My first Christmas card

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a fab weekend

Here is my card for this weeks Friday Sketchers which was another fabulous sketch, this time by the very talented Mumur .

I have used this sketch to make my very first Christmas card. I haven't been able to join in with a few challenges lately because they've had a Christmas theme and I just don't have any 'winter' things (yet!). I wasn't stamping last Christmas and haven't really thought about this year yet, so at the moment I have no winter papers or stamps or embellies.....I can feel another trip to the shops coming on!!!

Having said that I did manage to find one piece of Christmas paper in my drawer and this super hAngler image. I don't know if it was just lack of inspiration or I liked it so much, but I've gone for the same colour scheme as my previous card.....hope you don't mind!!

Here are the details.
  • Image: hAngler
  • Medium: Watercolour pens
  • Paper: hmmm?
  • Flowers, buttons and cord from stash

I had to rotate the sketch a bit as the image was too long and I definately need to add something else to it...maybe some sparkly snowflakes

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, have a super day

A secret message!

Hi again everyone,

Here is my card I have made for this weeks a spoon full where the theme was 'a secret message'
This card has taken two days to make....no I'm not normally that slow...but as I was putting it together, I ran out of tape!!!....have you ever heard of such a thing....a crafter with no tape!!!
So a quick trip to the shops yesterday and voila!, my new card.

This card is a tribute to my blog candy win, as I have used quite a few things from my goodie box....the image, the ribbon and the flowers.

Here is the secret message (two actually!), inspiration from all sorts of places but mostly from Camilla (although I didn't actually use a toilet roll!)

So here are the details:
  • Image: hAngler from my sweet friend Hanne
  • Medium: Watercolour pens
  • Paper: I really don't know but I think they are fab...perhaps someone can help
  • Ribbon, flowers and brad from stash (I can say that now lol!)
Thanks for stopping by, have a super sunny Sunday

My blog candy win!

Morning everyone,

Just wanted to show you all (I know you're green with envy lol!) some of the fabulous candy I received from the lovely Hanne . The box was packed with goodies and here is a sample of what I received, I was completely overwhelmed, Hanne you are just so kind and I thank you very much.

You will also see the amazing bag which Hanne made filled with scrummy hAngler images, just look at all the details on such a small thing...it truly is fabulous

The photos do not do justice to such beautiful things, I think Hanne is going to post the bag on her blog, so pop over there and see how she made it, along with a much better photo I think!!

2 in 1 challenge with a little help from Marlene

Morning everyone,
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are fighting fit this Monday morning.

I'm really late this week with my entry for a spoon full as my inspiration had just totally gone AWOL and I couldn't think of anything to use as 'recycle'.
In the end I went for a ribbon which I cut from an old shop bought card, a flower from an artificial flower bunch and the sentiment is cut from a piece of vellum I used for a wedding card, so I actually managed to recycle 3 things, small as they are.

I have based this card on a sketch from the extremely talented Marlene and although I haven't used an oval, I think the foundations are there, it was a super sketch to work with, thanks a bunch Marlene. I used this gorgeous hAngler stamp which fits perfectly with the theme on CCT which is 'the two of us'.
  • Image: hAngler and stAngler
  • Paper: BG and I don't know
  • Medium: Watercolour pens
  • Sentiment, ribbon and flower - recycled

Thanks for looking, I'll be back later with a lovely award I received

Blog catch up and a fun day out!!

Hi again everyone,

Pull up a chair, make yourself a coffee (yes you Heather lol!), it's gonna be a long one!!

As mentioned earlier I've not been an active blogger this week, did manage to look round some of my favs but not really left that many comments or posted about anything...kept thinking..I'll do that tomorrow and then you know...tomorrow never happens.....carpe diem!.

Anyway, we had a lovely family day out today at Gulliver's World in Warrington, lots of fun for the kids and at about 4pm we decided it was time to go home. Well my little girl wanted to go on the pedalos and as they were near the exit we got in the queue. After a few minutes, we felt a few drops of rain, looked further over the park and it was absolutely tipping down, what did we do.....we said 'how come it's raining over there and not here'!!!!! then what do you think happened.....yeah, the heavens opened and we got absolutely drenched!!!! the rain was bouncing of the streets....so the moral of the tale.....if it starts to rain.....have a brain and run for cover!!!!

I've also been tagged by my lovely friends Jill and Mandy

The rules are .....

1. Link to the person who “tagged” you.

2. Post the rules on your blog.

3. Write six random things about yourself.

4. Tag six people at the end of your post.

5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

6. Let the tagger know your entry is posted on your blog.

Here are six random things about me:

1. It's my 10 year wedding anniversay tomorrow, big hugs and kisses to my gorgeous hubby

2. I played hockey for Cumbria until I was 21

3. I don't like ice-cream (unless its with chocolate fudge cake!) I just don't see the point of it

4. I'm scared of cows....it's the eyes...always staring!!

5. I was in a car accident when I was 21 and had to have my wrist screwed back together (sorry if you're a bit squeamish)

6. I had a topless picture of me on the beach pinned to the notice board in the sixth form common room.....mmmm not at all embarassing when you're 18!!!

The six people I'm going to tag are

Rach

Carole

Heather

Lisa

Diane

Nikki

Apologies if you've already been tagged

Also, phew it's turning into an epic.....I won Hanne's candy...yeah me!!! Congratulations to all the other winners and thankyou so much to the gorgeously talented Hanne, it really cheered me up cos I fell down the stairs earlier in the day doh!! what a dufus!!!

Katharina's 100K celebration

Hi again everyone,

As most of you already know Katharina has opened her own online shop Whiff of Joy and is selling the most delicious stamps, well, her hit counter has now exceeded 100,000 (huge congratulations) and to celebrate she is kindly offering the chance to win a set of Guardian Angel stamps designed by the awsome talent that is Elisabeth Bell . How fabulous is that!!

So, hop ever to Katharina's blog and join in the celebration and take the time to appreciate all Katharina's creations and her new range of beautiful stamps

Challenge catch-up

Evening everyone,

Yet again I'm playing challenge catch-up, so many wonderful blogs I just don't seem to have the time to do them all

This card I have made for Sarah Kay where you had to use 3 buttons and 3 jewels combined with PTW which was yet another fabulous sketch by the gorgeously talented Katharina
Here are the details
  • Image: Sarah Kay from my lovely friend Mandy
  • Medium: Watercolour pens
  • Paper: StacyClaire Boyd
  • Flowers, buttons, and gems from my stash

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave a comment, I love it when you do

CCT in da house!

Morning everyone,

First of all, sorry for the lack of posting this week, my mum came to visit for a few days and I wanted to spend time with her, especially after the 'mishap' she had last time she was here and secondly you will have to excuse my artistic license for any card I make this week as I don't seem to have any images which fit the themes, nothing housey...is that a word!!, no animals, no christmas.....

So here is the card I made for this weeks CCT where the theme was 'in the house'. I used this cute Papilio girl in her nightie...well I think she is!!

Here are the details
  • Image: Papilio
  • Paper: Bazzill, Crate paper, K&Co (i think)
  • Medium: Watercolour pens
  • Sentiment: Studio G
  • Flowers and brads from stash

Thanks for looking, have a super day
